Why A once happy Family suddenly falls apart in Nigeria

A once happy Nigerian family bonding may experience sudden breaks for various reasons, mirroring challenges faced by families worldwide. One significant factor is the strain caused by economic difficulties, as financial pressures can lead to stress, disputes, and ultimately erode family cohesion. Unemployment or financial instability can trigger conflicts over resources and contribute to a breakdown in communication.

Another key element is the impact of cultural or societal expectations, where traditional norms and familial obligations may clash with individual aspirations. Conflicting values, generational gaps, or differing perspectives on marriage and parenting can strain the harmony within the family unit, leading to fractures in the once close-knit bond.

Marital issues, such as infidelity, lack of communication, or irreconcilable differences, also play a substantial role in family breakdowns. These challenges can escalate, causing emotional turmoil and destabilizing the foundation of the family.

Furthermore, external influences, like peer pressure, societal changes, or exposure to alternative lifestyles, may contribute to a family's disintegration. The evolving landscape of societal norms can create tension within the family if individual members pursue divergent paths that challenge established beliefs.

In some cases, health issues or unforeseen tragedies can place an immense strain on the family, causing emotional distress and potentially leading to fractured relationships. Coping with illness or loss requires a strong support system, and if the family is unable to navigate these challenges together, it can result in a breakdown of the familial bonds.

Ultimately, a combination of internal and external factors can contribute to the sudden disintegration of a once happy Nigerian family. Effective communication, resilience, and a shared commitment to addressing challenges are crucial components in maintaining family unity amidst the complexities of modern life.

What is sad about most families is that they grew up like this, sleeping together, eating together, visiting each other but today most of these people: Don't talk to each other, Don't visit each other, Have become enemies even though they are a family, Accuse each other of witchcraft and jealous. The new generation born out of these families don't know each other because their parents, who are siblings, are no longer on talking terms, and the tragedy is these kids end up dating each other because they don't know their family tree and roots. Only meet during funerals.

The saddest part is the grandmothers or grandparents who were the glue holding families together are long gone.

This Season make means to mend fences with your relatives. Be the bigger and mature person, you lose nothing by extending a hand to your brother, sister, cousin or a long lost relative, even that your father and mother that you've tagged a "witch" Nothing like your family.
